Based on a recent Pew survey:

Muslim women

  • More Muslim immigrants are from Asia than the Middle East
  • 56% of  Muslim immigrants in the United States have arrived since  2000
  • US born Muslims are slightly more likely to say that eating halal food and wearing a headscarf is very important.
  • Muslim immigrants are more likely to say they are (somewhat or completely) proud to be Americans (93%), than the general American public (91%).
  • U.S. born Muslims are more likely to say they are (somewhat or completely) proud to be Muslims (99%), than the American Christians are to say they are proud to be Christians (94%).
  • 73% of Muslim immigrants says that “Americans are friendly to Muslims” in contrast to U.S. born Muslims where the percent is 30%
